These blocks are back on my design wall. I blogged about them here and explained a little about the project. Yes, this is the picture from then. I decided how I was going to lay them out and took the blocks down before I thought to take a new picture. Our blockswappers group usually meets in July to reveal how we put our blocks together, so I decided I better get something done with my blocks!! I'm thinking my quilt this year is going to be quite simple. Some years I have taken my exchange blocks and really gotten creative with my layout and quilting, but not this year. Time is definately a factor in this decision, as well as lack of inspiration this time around. I know when we have our reveal of our group of twelve quilts, I'll probably wish I had gone with another idea, but for now I will be content with my layout. I'm afraid this will be the last time you see this project until the reveal because I don't want others in the group to see my quilt on the blog. Not because my quilt is particularly special but because the reveal is always more fun when it is the first time we have seen each others projects completed.
I shared about this quilt in my last blog post. I said I would get a picture of me with the quilt and the best of show ribbon and here it is! A client of mine did the phenominal designing and piecing of this quilt and I quilted it. She entered it in the two person small quilt category and it received Best of Show!
I told Mr. Plum that I really wanted to go to the show and he said he would love to take me! Since today is our 30th wedding anniversary today, we decided to stay over nite to celebrate. After spending time at the quilt show until it was about to close, we spent the rest of Saturday and Sunday just poking around St. Cloud and then the Twin Cities area. It was fun and relaxing, we should do it more often. I may have enjoyed it a little more than Mr. Plum. He was afraid that he was going to be the only guy at the quilt show(he wasn't, of course, but he was quite outnumbered!) What a great guy for going with me, I think I'll keep him around for another 30 years or so!
